My experience with Wind Riders at Limone sul Garda, Italy, July 2010
This year I wanted to go on holiday and I wanted to learn to kitesurf. So I decided to combine the two in one holiday. The ‘problem’ was that I can’t get anyone else to come with me. After contacting Maayke and reading the website of Wind Riders I decided to go all alone.
Maayke arranged everything for me after my decision to go kiting with Wind Riders at Lake Garda, including my stay at camping Nanzel. Camping Nanzel is a really great camping, direct at the lake. It was a few hundred meters walk to the Wind Riders kite centre and the Cherenquito beachbar was in the middle of that walk, so it was perfect!
The kitesurfing cursus was also very well organised. My instructors, Maayke, Stephano and Rintsje are all very nice people and experienced kiters. They have teached me a lot! My fellow students where great! It was a nice group and after kiting we often go for a drink at the Cherenquito beachbar and after that we go out to eat something together. After my four day course I was able to kitesurf independent. I received my IKO certificate and I now have a good basis to continue kitesurfing here in Holland. For sure that I will do that, because kitesurfing is very addictive, it really is super to ride the wind and control your kite! I can recommend everyone to go to Limone sul Garda and go kiting with Wind Riders. It is a great place and the people are really nice and experienced.
Even if you’re alone, you will meet lots of other people there to hang out with! I will be back there sometime!

Greetings, Jeroen Ansink Holland

The learning curve is 200% accelerated through those radiohelmet, mainly when you start riding a bit. That with a good teacher, I could directly correct “small” things, like body position or feet position and improve that way my riding style. At the end, helmet are MUST when starting jumping! After each water clash, even you are under water, you’ll get live comment and understand them, even if you’ve land about 30 meter downwind or 50 meter from the boat! I can only say: I should have start with those helmet (as I started in Brazil).
