Welcom in the team Steven!

February 12, 2012 | Category: Uncategorized

Hi everyone,

I’m Steven de Vegt. I’m 20 years old and I’m going to do my internship at Wind Riders. I’m in my last year of Sport management, at the Hanze University of Sport studies. This internship is also for my graduation program. The internship will start from the first of April till the 31th of August.

I’m a very sportive person, that’s one of the reasons I’m attacted to a company such
as Wind Riders. I’m playing tennis and doing a little bit of fitness, running and cycling.
These sports are my regular sports I do weekly. Beside I like to do water sports and winter sports. In the summer I’m sailing, windsurfing, wavesurfing and kite surfing. We (my parents) have some little sailing boats and a shallop.

When I’m in a foreign country I often go wavesurfing. The countries I’ve been for wavesurfing are France, Spain and Portugal.

In the winter periods I regularly go skiing or snowboarding. These sports I’m very
attracted to.

Besides the sports I do, I’m an active member of Veracket. This is a tennis
association for students. I’m currently living in Groningen; from April I’m going to
unsubscribe myself for my room in Groningen.
I’m enjoying my time here and I like to go out with friends and doing other activities
with people such as my family.

I hope I’m going to learn a lot and having a good time at Wind Riders.

Best regards,

Steven de Vegt

Snowkiting in Norway

January 12, 2012 | Category: Uncategorized

Since 2 days I am in Noosen, Norway doing a snowkite instructor course. After years of teaching is good to finally get the option to get the officialy qualification. So far a lot and had a snowkite session everyday :)

The first day I kited with a 2012 10 m north Rebel and today with a 2012 m Frenzy. With the North kite I had a great time, just sometimes in a gust of wind I got pulled quit a bit. Today with the Frenzy was really weird. the wind was gusty but the kite was also so different as the 2010 Frenzy which I know. I did not like it that much but I will give it an other try the next days. So far I am really missing my own Kahoona’s. they are quit perfect snowkites. Stabiel, good relaunch, good depower and strong.

Today I saw some beautiful picture of Nadir, taken at the Simplon pass in Zwitserland. The spot were I onces worked as a snowkite instructor for 4 months.

Enjoy watching them:

Welcome to Kara

Hi there everybody,

My name is Kara, I’m 25, from South Wales and I will be instructing with Wind Riders in the 2012
season. I have only kited for around 3 1/2 years now but have spent a lot of my time travelling in
South America, the Caribbean and other places following the wind during that time. Before I started
my travels I studied languages and so teaching kiting around the world allows me to combine all my
passions – languages, kiting and meeting new people. I also ski, SUP and surf a little… love fresh fruit
and making cocktails with it (as I also double up as a bar manager)!

I look forward to meeting some of you guys when I rock up in May!

See you soon

Kara

Snowkiting in Italy

December 16, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized

The snow season has started.

Italy has some beautiful snowkite spots. They are spacious and offer lots of touring posibilities. Because they are so spaces kiting with a normal tube kite is possible. Offcourse nice snowkite from Ozone is easier. You can launch and land more independent. But also with the tube kites you will be able to explore areas you can only walk to or snowkite to!

Join Wind Riders on a tour or take a lesson to get into Snowkiting.

Mika is all winter in Italy, ready to take you to the nicest spots. End of February Wind Riders is organizing a snowkite camp. Join us on the snowkite adventure!

Meet our new instructor: Sam

December 14, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized

Hi everybody,

My name is Sam, and I will be part of the instructors team for the upcoming season. Just a little bit about me : I’m 28 years old, and i’ve been kitesurfing for as little as 6 years now. I am an all-around kiteboarder for I like to do some freestyle as much as wavestyle but also foilboarding and mountaiboarding ( which is in my opinion underrated ). I’m currently learning italian the proper way, and I hope I ‘ll be  fluent speaker by the time I will arrive at lake garda. I’m looking forward to be a kiteboarding instructor in France which require a state diploma. As for my hobbies aside from kitesurfing I like video editing and picture editing as much as playing guitar.

Hope to see you soon at lake garda !

Cheers,

Sam
