IKO instructor course 12 – 16 July with Wind Riders

From 12 – 16 july we will organise together with IKO a 5 day programme to become an IKO instructor.
At the end of this course (if you study hard) you will receive the IKO instructor level 1 diploma. With this diploma you can work at over 100 different kitesurf schools around the world.
For me (Mika) this diploma gave me the option to work at exotic locations like: Australie, Maldives, Dominican Republic and many more.
If you want to join the course you need some pre experience with teaching watersports or assisting with teaching in the watersport branche.
The IKO Assitant course can be done with Wind Riders in the months before.

First weeks of the season!

We can look back on two good first weeks of the season. For Mika is it nice to see all the familiar faces again. For me (Rints), this all is a whole new experience. I will stay at lake garda for five months as Mika’s assistant. I will tell you something about my first impressions.
The first weeks were really great for me. Almost every day kitesurfing with the other customers of Wind Riders. On the water and good wind. That’s life! Also the life around lake Garda is really nice. Relaxed, good food, a beautiful environment and pretty woman!;)
This year there are two boats in the harbour of the Leonardo Davinci Hotel. A big rib with a 50 horsepower Suzuki motor and the same boat as last year. Flying over the waves and enjoying the speed! The new equipment of Best, Aboards and Prolimit is also really nice. The Aboards Flip is my favourite. A light board, but really easy to ride and perfect for learning your first tricks.
The north wind has been really good these weeks. We had 16 mornings of good wind in 18 days. The south wind (Ora) is also there. We start this saturday with the first afternoon session. Wind Riders is going to organize some new things this year. At first there will be a beach lesson for the people who don’t know how to start at the beach. This will be on the 24th of April and there are still some places free. Are you interested? Send a email or make a call! There will be a testing day again. The brands Ocean Rodeo, Gin Kites, Advance en Core will be represented that day. Wind Riders is also organizing a IKO-assistant and IKO-instructorcourse at the end of June and beginning of July. A very good start of the season!

It is great to be back at Lake Garda. The water is still a bit cold but with our new warm suits and caps we can still enjoy the riding. 5 out of 6 days we had a good north wind. And today the South wind arrived! Tomorrow we are expecting 19 degrees, sunshine and both a good North and South wind!
